CHENG SONG TAY FOODS INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD. (誠松泰食品工業) has made plum products in Meishan, Chiayi County, Taiwan since 1967, using locally grown Taiwanese green plums (ume). Ume Tonya (梅問屋) is our own consumer brand and plum tourism factory.
What sets us apart: ingredient specifications can be customized for your product. Pickled plums, plum sauce, plum juice concentrate, plum vinegar and plum powder are produced in our own factory under ISO 22000 and HACCP certification, so sweetness, acidity, saltiness, form and packaging can be adjusted to your needs. Our sour plum drink concentrate is still exported to Japan today.

What have we developed for clients?
These items were developed to meet client requirements:

- Salted plum juice – used in the bottled sour plum drink of one of Taiwan's top three beverage brands
- Seasoned plums (御膳梅) – served in in-flight meals of two Taiwanese airlines

- Chewy plum cakes (Q梅餅) – used in a silver-medal entry at a 2016 world bread competition

- Roasted plums (燒烤梅) – co-developed with a Japanese client; exclusive in Taiwan; in production for 20 years
Who is Cheng Song Tay Foods?
Cheng Song Tay Foods began by pickling green plums, ginger and bamboo shoots in Meishan, Chiayi, and later focused on plum products made from locally grown Taiwanese green plums. In our early years, salted plum stock for Japan was our core business. The strict specifications of Japanese food companies shaped our production standards and our ability to customize.

How is quality controlled?
- ISO 22000:2018 food safety management system – certificate TW16/01106, issued by SGS United Kingdom Ltd, UKAS accredited and recognized under the IAF Multilateral Recognition Arrangement. Certified since December 2016; the current certificate is valid until December 2028. Food categories CII (processing of perishable plant products) and CIV (processing of ambient-stable products).
- HACCP (GHPs) – certificate TW16/01107, issued by SGS Taiwan Limited, based on CXC 1-1969 (revised 2022). Certified since December 2016; valid until December 2028.
- Halal – certificate CP96301060226, issued by the Taiwan Halal Integrity Development Association (THIDA), valid February 2026 to February 2028, covering 29 products in plum powder, plum drinks, plum cooking products and plum foods. THIDA is a halal certification body recognized by the World Halal Food Council (WHFC), JAKIM (Malaysia) and BPJPH (Indonesia).
- Moisture, acidity and sugar content are monitored with instruments during production.
- The factory shares its site with the Ume Tonya tourism factory, so you can see where production takes place.
What is the minimum order quantity?
It is discussed case by case. Item, specifications, packaging and quantity all affect pricing. Tell us your intended use and quantity by email or LINE, and we will recommend options.
Custom items can be sampled first. Sampling time and minimum quantity depend on the item: adjusting an existing product is faster, while developing a new formula takes longer. Green plums are a seasonal raw material, which also affects scheduling. Tell us what you need and we will give you an estimated timeline.

Frequently asked questions
Q: Can you customize to our formula or specifications?
A: Yes. Pickled plums, plum sauce, plum juice concentrate, plum vinegar and plum powder are produced in our own factory within our ISO 22000 and HACCP certification. Sweetness, acidity, saltiness, form (whole, pitted, purée or powder) and packaging can be adjusted, and we can co-develop products based on your formula.
Q: What bulk pack sizes are available?
A: Current bulk sizes are 2,000 g bags and 5 kg or 20 kg pails, depending on the item (see the table above). Other sizes can be discussed based on your production line.
Q: Do you have halal certification? Can you supply Malaysia and Indonesia?
A: Yes. Our halal certificate CP96301060226 was issued by THIDA and covers 29 products in plum powder, plum drinks, plum cooking products and plum foods, valid until February 2028. THIDA is recognized by WHFC, JAKIM (Malaysia) and BPJPH (Indonesia). Please ask us which items are covered, and confirm the import requirements of your market when we discuss your order.
Q: Can these items be exported?
A: Yes. All items listed above can be exported, and our sour plum drink concentrate is currently exported to Japan. Export documents and specifications are confirmed during discussions.
Q: Where do your plums come from?
A: Mainly fresh green plums grown locally in Taiwan. Our factory is in Meishan Township, Chiayi County.
Q: Can we see samples first?

Q: Can we visit the factory?
A: The factory shares its address with the Ume Tonya tourism factory (No. 527, Zhongshan Rd., Meishan Township, Chiayi County), which is open daily 08:00–17:30 with free admission. Please contact us in advance to arrange a production line visit.
